Ross Andrews is the Executive Director of the Center for Human-Earth Restoration, a place-based environmental education nonprofit. Ross holds a Masters of Science in Soil Science and a Masters in Forestry from North Carolina State University. He is also a graduate of the Inner Life of the Child in Nature program at the Center for Education, Imagination and the Natural World in Greensboro, North Carolina. Ross’s love of nature emerged from Boy Scout backpacking trips in the Blue Ridge Mountains outside of Charlottesville, Virginia. He began writing poetry under the giant oaks and poplars of the UNC Chapel Hill campus as an undergraduate student. Ross now lives near Steep Hill Creek above Yates Mill Pond with his exuberant daughter Naomi in Raleigh, North Carolina.
