The effort of the genuine spiritual seeker should be to
cultivate love until the mind becomes saturated by it.
The mind that has realized the boundlessness of love is
nonexclusive and impartial. It is not bound by selective
preferences or any prejudices.
In order to achieve the goal of this meditative and sublime
state of love, the Buddha recommended the practise of
meditation called the cultivation of universal selfless
love (metta).
