Selections from the Poetry of Robert Goslin

Atman

Never dare presume to say,
'I am This' or 'I am That.'
'I did This' or 'I did That.'
Better lay claim to nothing.
All the gifts you have are lent,
Subtle, rare, and transient.
Fostered in an earthly shell.
For you, yourself, are nothing
But extension of the Light,
Which emanates from Oneness,
And is screened from human sight;
But when your shell is broken
And your light returns to source
To bask in warmth eternal,
You will know yourself at last.
